My co-worker's husband has raced it twice (this year and last year). If you are interested in talking to someone who's done it he would be happy to chat about it. He's also very much into the outdoors (white water kayaking, biking, hiking and travelling). You would have lot's to talk about.

Also a VP at RIM. You never know....

Canada Day on Parliament Hill... and such a gorgeous day at that... way to make me homesick, brother!! We had an okay time at the Embassy pool party hosted in honour of the day, and of course Damascus was pretty cool... but not quite like home. Thanks for sharing your recent Canadian adventures.

Your post was the next best thing to being there Steve - thanks for taking the time to write it up. As I've already stated a few times, I would have loved to have been there, but sometimes things just don't work out. From the looks of your photos (and others I've seen), it was an amazing party!

Sounds like fun indeed. I'm surprised that you have never tried Beau before Steve, since it was available at Adam and Terri's wedding. Oh well.

Seriously?! People were complaining about the water? That's crazy! If it's good enough for the general public, then it's definitely good enough for racers. People never cease to amaze me with the things they find to complain about.

I was surprised with your take on the 39 km water station though. Having been there yourself a couple of times as a racer - did anyone have to coax you to take some water? I know I didn't need any coaxing. :)

Sounds like a lot of fun, mostly. I would love to join you sometime, but it's just a matter of being able to get the time off from parenting. :) Likely wont happen this summer - it seems ALL of my weekends are spoken for already. D'oh!

Holy crap Steve. Thats crazy about the bike accident. I m sure the alcohol didn't help matters (maybe dulled the pain a bit) ;-) Glad you are ok.

Kinda reminds me when you rollar bladed to Sandy Hill from Jim's house after a night of drinking. Didn't you have a wipe out or two then?

Yeah I know you didn't have the ability to get the pictures off the CD yet, but I'm surprised you didn't take your own camera with you as well. Is this the only post on your blog that doesn't have a picture associated with it?! I'm too lazy to actually go back and look for myself. Sounds like you had yet another amazing adventure - one that I definitely would have liked to be there for. Oh well I guess.
