Yup, I survived the trip, but have never stopped dreaming about being back out there on the road every day, meeting new people and trying more fun stuff. Glad you came over to check out the site. Yeah that 'map' needs updating ;-) I'm working on a site overhaul, in which I've already updated the map.
For those curious, here are some pictures from that day Maria is referring to. Also, here is the map of that day's fun (not perfect put shows where it was. And finally, here's a handy link to the original blog post.

well, its been a very long time. but i still remember that crazy canadian i met on the brilliant ice climbing trip on fox. so i thought, why not check his homepage and there i happily see -a bit surprised as well- leanne and i are actually to be seen on here. good on you ;)
but then i click on travels with that nice map appearing infront of me...and what do i have to see, newzealand isnt colored...i am shocked....^_^
good to see u made it and i take it the bike survived as well?

Steve is back so late on Friday night that he won't actually clear customs until the wee hours of Saturday morning. He has a day-long stopover in San Francisco on the way back.

Yeah I know you didn't have the ability to get the pictures off the CD yet, but I'm surprised you didn't take your own camera with you as well. Is this the only post on your blog that doesn't have a picture associated with it?! I'm too lazy to actually go back and look for myself. Sounds like you had yet another amazing adventure - one that I definitely would have liked to be there for. Oh well I guess.

Let me be the first to congratulate you (on your blog anyways) on completing your biking adventure! I've enjoyed reading about every day and am in awe that you managed to post an entry for EVERY SINGLE DAY! I'm quite sure I'll never get a chance to do anything like this, or at least not until I'm retired and the kids have moved out - so the best I can do is live vicariously through you and maybe hope to influence some of your decisions in some small way - like the beard for instance. :)

And speaking of the beard - glad to hear that it is still around - it was looking mighty impressive in your latest photos. If Jody is anything like Amy though - not sure how long you'll be able to keep it on once you get back - hopefully I'll get a chance to see you before you shave it. :)

So what's the plan from here on out? When do you get back?

Steve! Sounds like you are having a wicked time over there. Keep the stories coming. I have one question for you though - isn't riding a bike naked kind of uncomfortable??? Soon I will be almost in the same time zone as you! Well, maybe not quite - I am going to Bangladesh for work in April for 2 weeks. I'm pretty excited!

I was there on Saturday night and Monday night, with Sunday night spent up at Mt. Cook. I was at the Lakefront Lodge. If only I'd known you were there Goo :-)

Meg and I really enjoyed it, I thought it was a fairly well told story directed by a Canadian, shot in Canada and starring two Canadians... perfect to remind you of home, even if it was set in Minnesota :)
