Travel is great. Experiencing other cultures is great. For some, it is also a pretty scary experience at times, as they put you out of your comfort zone. As such, the best advice I can think of when embarking on any adventure is to do so with an open mind, and a certain amount of flexibility. What you are used to, and expect as the norm where you live is definitely not the norm where you are visiting. Expect surprises and deviations.
