Hello out there! Welcome back to another short chapter in the exciting world of ActiveSteve. This is yet another blog post to fill you all in on what is happening in the exciting world or wrecked knee Meyer. When last you checked in, I believe I let you all know that I was awaiting the results from my Xrays and MRIs , which were hopefully going to once and for all let me know where I stood as far as racing this summer went. As you can well imagine,ActiveSteve doesn’t function all that well when he can’t put his feet to the roads or the trails in an attempt to recapture glory on the podium. And he had high hopes for doing so this year, after working diligently at improving his cycling. Hey! Why am I referring to myself in the 3rd person? I dunno, I suppose sub-consciously it means I haven’t come to grips with it? To what do I refer here? Well, you’ll just have to read on and find out!

Howdy all you friendly people out there in the world wide world. Hope everyone is doing well, and that you’re not missing me too much. I realize that I must sound like a broken record, but once again, I’ll apologize for my lack of blogging of late. Getting back to domestic life takes a lot out of a person you know? Also, after spending my entire days at work on a computer, I must admit that I don’t much feel like firing up the ole PC to write when I haven’t been doing very much. Lucky for you, I’ve got a few stories to share with you. So many in fact, that I’ll spread them out over two posts. This one will be all about my mini family reunion that took place last week. Yup, Andrea, Patrick and Helena were over from Saudi Arabia, and by dad and his wife Nicole made the trip up from Nova Scotia. Read on for more details, and check out some relevant pictures!
Greetings folks, and sorry for such a long delay between posts. Quite frankly, there hasn’t been enough of interest happening to warrant me making a post. After all, I don’t just want to write these stories for the sake of writing. That would be boring. I doubt you really want me to write about life back in the cubicle farm. New cube, new view, new tasks, but more of the same, know what I’m sayin’? Also, my mega-map project hasn’t quite got off the launch pad yet. I’ve got the pictures sorted, and started working on it, but it’s a bit tedious, because I still need to purge my ‘best of’ shots down to a bare minimum for the map, and that has to happen before I import the GPS logs. So my apologies, but it’s still on the agenda. Also, special shout ouf to Mason for the title idea, apparently, he’s been left a little short of reading material since I got back, and was hoping I’d get back to blogging. So here I am. Let me take you through a few of the medical mayhem mysteries I’ve been subjected to, since they’re sort of interesting (trust me, you’ll get a real kick out of one of my stories). Read on land-lubbers.
Hey Gang! Well, as you’ve no doubt realized, my blog postings have diminished substantially since my return to chilly Ottawa. even though spring has somewhat arrived here, the weather is still not really good enough to go out and do any long training rides yet, and the race season hasn’t started yet, so I’m sticking to the indoor training, and playing with my computer and getting gear ready. Preparing gear includes looking after my body, but more on that in a moment. The biggest development on my front is actually an improvement in Flickr, which in turn will hopefully further increase the overall web experience you’ll get when visiting ActiveSteve. As you can see to the left, I’m now [hopefully] able to embed short video clips on my website easily. Of course, there were always ways to do this, but to date, I haven’t found a solution that I would truly be happy with… until now. Read on for a little more about this development.
Hey gang! Well, I’m slowly making my transition into my humdrum existence back here in Ottawa. Understandably, I’m having a bit of a challenge finding my focus again, but it’s coming. As I decide what my upcoming racing and traveling plans are, I’ll share them. Looking at my ‘countdown’ is depressing, since I have nothing to look forward to at the moment! However, for now, I can still be happy with the fact that I’ve put together my ‘best of’ pictures of both the North and South Island. It was a tough cull, and I still ended up with 1756 pictures, but at least I did a first sort. These are all up in full resolution should you wish to use them as wallpaper 🙂 Up next: getting the NZ ‘Mega-Maps’ done. I think I’ll do North and South separate. Otherwise, the files get pretty unwieldy. Without further ado, please check out the following links:
