Whew! Where has the time gone? By checking the ole time stamp on my posts, it would appear as thought it’s been exactly a month since I’ve posted anything here. Shame on me! Guess I was just too busy basking in my relative glory for the Quest race. Where would I go from there? Well, apparently, the answer is nowhere in particular. The past four weeks have been spent recovering and revelling. I’ll try to put up a few short posts and pictures to bring y’all up to speed on all things Steve for the month of July. To start with, the week after Quest for a Cure was really a resting and recovery week mainly for me. It was also a preparation week for July 1st, which as usual, would undoubtedly bring forth the traditional debauchery and celebration. This year’s main goal was just to party, and possibly to make sure that Rob didn’t make a return trip to the local drunk tank, of which some of the details are still quite foggy to Mr. Sample.
Howdy everyone, and welcome to ActiveSteve 3.0! Yup, it was time to throw the switch on the things I’ve been working on in the background for a while with respect to this website. In celebration of the fact that ActiveSteve has essentially been reborn as a result of getting the clean bill of health, I decided to get my portal re-vectored in anticipation of my future adventures 🙂 Although I’ve always been pretty happy with the site that I had, it was time to try some new things. Well, that and the fact that my server host has been sort of trying to get me to upgrade my underlying content management system (CMS), Drupal specifically. Of course I’m sure you’re not all that interested in the boring techy side of this. You’re probably just interested in finding out what exactly I’ve changed, what’s new, and what you can do here at the new ActiveSteve. Hey gang. Welcome back to another little story hot off the presses. Two in one night, aren’t you a lucky bunch? I’m making a concerted effort to catch up with the latest goings-on of one ActiveSteve, as I’m also trying to work on ActiveSteve 3.0 in parallel. Yup, you read right, I’m working on a fresh new face for the website once again. Why not, eh? It’ll be mainly cosmetic, as well as making some improvements under the hood that you won’t see. I’m already excited about it, but I have a lot of work to do, so first things first, let me get this blog post off my chest. Many of you will be aware that this past weekend was my birthday. As such, Jody said I could do whatever I wanted. Well, as luck would have it, a group of my AR friends were getting together for a ~100km mountain bike ride in Gatineau Park, starting from Aylmer, so I decided I should join in.
